ANNOUNCEMENT:
I’m having foot surgery the last week of March.
Man! Almost as soon as I started to facilitate yoga in person again, the doctor informed me that I have capsulitis of the 2nd toe, left foot. Due to my anatomy, the joint will continue to deteriorate unless we correct it surgically. I have a pretty substantial bunion on the same foot which has caused my foot/ankle/hip chain to migrate out of alignment for years. We’re going to go ahead and fix that while we’re in there. So…
I won't be facilitating any yoga classes for the month of April, 2026.
I’m hoping to take only a short break from the Mindful Meditation offering on Monday nights at Selah Studio, so that class will pause from 3/30 - 4/6 if all goes well.

mindful meditation
non-judgmental awareness of the present moment
This 1-hour offering will begin with a 20-25 minute discussion of theories & instruction, followed by a 20- 25 minute guided meditation, and a short time at the end for questions & responses.
Each week the offering will be different. You’re welcome to sit in a chair or be on a yoga mat on the floor. Some weeks we may practice a walking meditation.
To welcome all 5 senses, I may burn incense outside of the entrance, or Palo Santo inside. Sometimes I’ll use a singing bowl or bell to signal the end of the guided meditation. I may incorporate other sound therapy instruments.
I’ll be there on Mondays from 6-7pm at Selah Studio, 4162 Canal Street, side entrance.

Group TCTSY sessions are offered in an 8 week series because studies have shown symptom relief comes after 8 sessions. All groups are CLOSED (no drop-ins) so you know who to expect. Practicing with others can help you expand your ability to trust & connect with others while also connecting to your body.
-

Private sessions can be powerful for people who prefer more privacy or less stimulation. These sessions offer opportunity for personalized shapes & sequences, and you can co-design your experience. We may decide to use a combination of restorative, trauma sensitive, and mindfulness practices.
-
TCTSY
Trauma Sensitive practice allows you to connect to your body through interoception and making choices. Each yoga form will be preceded by an invitational option & there are no alignment cues. Participate to the extent that you choose. I will not walk around the room, offer adjustments, or introduce scents or sound therapy. The use of yoga props is optional, and there is no guided meditation or spiritual teaching. No breathing exercises are included.
-
Restorative
Restorative yoga is a more traditional movement experience focused on downregulating your nervous system and developing vagal tone. Yoga props are used in each form. You’ll hear alignment cues and ideal forms of poses described. I’ll walk around the room while you rest in each shape, offering mists, anointing with essential oils, and sound therapy. Guided meditation & spiritual/philosophical teachings are part of the practice, which also sometimes includes breathing exercises.
-
3 Hour Workshop
The workshop is a lecture/discussion format, with short samples of TCTSY practice built in. You’ll learn a little about how Trauma Theory, Attachment Theory, and Neuroscience inform the practice, the TCTSY methodology, and relevant research.
Yoga teachers can claim 4 Yoga Alliance CEUs after attending.
